GREAT @ Jouett - Mondays, 8:00-9:00am
GREAT (GiRls Excited About Technology) in collaboration with GEMS @ UVA and Tech-Girls will be coming to Jouett on Monday afternoons. GREAT is the brainchild of high school junior, Selena Feng, who is passionate about “providing a place where girls are encouraged to freely follow their passions regardless of society's opinions, to help them develop their own tech identities, and inspire them to pursue their interests in computing". Participants will be introduced to topics such as robotics, programming, and technology, and learn how these subjects are used and applied in everyday life. We will provide resources and encouragement for further participation in technology by giving girls the skills, knowledge, and information needed to pursue IT/CS in high school, college, and beyond.
